Musicians! Interested in playing at Eastham Public Library’s 2027 Winter Music Series? Concerts will be held every other Saturday at 1:00 pm, January – March. Teen Advisory – Volunteer Kick-Off Meeting
Tuesday October 6th @ 4pm
Are you stressed? Tired? Bored? Frustrated by the lack of options for Teens here on the Lower Cape? We invite you to come give us your ideas! What would you like to see here at the library that would help? What programs can we offer? What games and books should we buy? This is your chance to weigh in while also learning about ways to earn volunteer hours and make a difference here at the library (this meeting counts as volunteer time also). We hope to see you, but if you cannot make the meeting and would like to learn more about our teen volunteer program, please contact Leah at ldower@clamsnet.org.

Join Meghan on Tuesday mornings at 10:15am for Rise & Shine! For babies and toddlers up to 4 years old and their caregivers – start the morning off with a story, songs, a big breath, a big stretch, and some yoga-inspired movement!

Program runs September 8th 2026 to May 25th 2027. No Registration Required.

Looking for something fun to do on your day off from school? Bring your friends and play board games at the library!

Drop by anytime throughout the day. A bunch of games will be available in the children’s program room and YA room. All ages welcome, no registration needed.

Learn to Fish

Learn to fish!
Monday September 28th from 4-6 pm at Great Pond Beach

Have you ever wanted to learn how to fish? Now’s your chance! Let the Mass Wildlife Angler Education Program be your guide. We’ll have equipment on hand for use, as well as terminal tackle and live bait. You’ll learn the basics, from casting out, to baiting up, and the best part – you’ll be able to fish. So come try your hand at this great pastime, guaranteed to catch some fun! Pre-registration is required. Please note: This is not a kids only program, but an all-inclusive fishing clinic for anyone of any age who  wants to learn how to fish.

Talking Horror with Gillian Daniels, Victoria Dalpe, and Aleese Lin
Tuesday October 20th @ 6 PM
Join us for a discussion of horror literature with Gillian Daniels, Victoria Dalpe, and Aleese Lin! We’ll delve into how writers craft spooky fiction, what horror trends we are loving right now, book recommendations, and so much more.
A book sale and signing will follow the discussion. Books will be provided by Belonging Books.
Author Bios:
Gillian Daniels’s poetry and short fiction have appeared in Nightmare Magazine, Strange Horizons, and Beneath Ceaseless Skies, among more than thirty other publications. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, grew up in Greater Cleveland, Ohio, and she now writes, works, and haunts the streets in the Boston area of Massachusetts. She also makes comics and zines, searches out little-known horror and indie movies, and definitely wants to see pictures of your cat. Her debut novel JENNY WILL EAT YOU NOW was published by Gallery Books.

Aleese Lin writes about fun things, pretty things, and monsters. She has received multiple honors, including being named a 2022 Lambda Literary fellow and a Tin House workshop alumnus. Her debut novel, is SAMANTHA SPÜK: PARANORMAL WEDDING PLANNER with Saga Press. She is also a contributor to the star-reviewed climate fiction anthology, ONWARD (Charlesbridge, 2026).

Victoria Dalpe is a Rhode Island based artist and writer. She has shown her artwork throughout New England and is the Gallery Chair of the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. Dalpe’s short fiction has been published in over 65 collections with her short story “The Cleaner” appearing in Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year Volume 17 in 2025. Her short story collection Les Femmes Grotesques and the Selene Shade Resurrectionist for Hire dark fantasy series have come out with CLASH Books. Looking ahead to spring 2027, her next collection, I’ll Break, You’ll Break will be out with Lethe Press. Her first novel, the sapphic gothic horror novel Parasite Life will also be rereleased with Mocha Memoirs Press. In addition to writing and art, Dalpe also has been a producer on various short and feature length film projects in RI, including the festival-darling-drag-queen slasher film Death Drop Gorgeous. The Importance of Planting Trees with Russel Norton

The trees and forests of Cape Cod are unique. Come learn about the past, present, and future of our trees and forest. Then learn what trees we should be considering for our home landscapes and how to plant and care for them properly. The first 32 participants will get to take home a sapling to plant in their own yard!
Russell Norton is an Extension Educator for the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension’s Agriculture and Horticulture program and the UMass Extension Landscape, Nursery, and Urban Forestry Program. Russell provides technical expertise to agriculture and horticulture professionals as well as the general public.

SF/F/H Short Stories

 

Every Other Friday @ 2 PM

Join us for a bi-weekly discussion of the stories in this years Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy. When we meet, we will talk about 2 specific stories, looking at the genre, craft, narrative, and all the other fun stuff trapped within.

Generative Writing Group

Join us for an informal Generative Writing Group led by our staff librarian, Corey. Each meeting will consist of prompts for those who want them for their fiction/non-fiction/poetry. All are welcome to stop by for some quality writing time. Follow the prompts, work on your novel, write what poems are speaking to you…do whatever you want! We support it!

Meets every Saturday from 11-12 in the Eastham Room.
