Unerased Screening

 

Join Eastham Public Library for a screening and talkback of Unerased: Asian Voices on Cape Cod, a short documentary that amplifies the experiences of members of our Asian community living or growing up on Cape Cod. Through personal stories and reflections, the film explores identity, community, and a path to healing. Free and open to all!

Join us for a classic game here at Eastham library! Come play bingo with a musical twist. Win prizes and enjoy a fun-filled time with friends and neighbors. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or trying it for the first time, everyone is welcome. Bingo cards and markers provided—just bring your lucky streak! All ages welcome, no registration required.
For the first two events: We’re putting a fun spin on traditional bingo where you’re allowed to jam out to your favorite songs and play for prizes against other music lovers! This week’s hosts are Jo Miller and Joel Sklar of “The Lariats”
And for the last event, Marty Sleeper will be our host.

Join us to celebrate the launch of Lindsey J. Palmer’s latest novel, Salt Sisters. She will be in conversation with Susan Rieger, author of Like Mother, Like Mother. A book sale and signing will follow, with books provided by Sea Howl Book Shop, and support from the Friends of the Eastham Library.

Teen Night: Flower Soap Making Workshop
Tuesday June 30th from 5-7pm
On Tuesday June 30th from 5-7pm, join us for a Teen Night: Flower Soap Making Workshop. For middle and high schoolers! Registration is required. After the soap making workshop, we will have pizza!
Join us for this unique and creative workshop especially designed for teens! Each participant will make their own multi-colored, soapy creations using glycerin based soap, colored soap cubes, cosmetic grade glitter, flowers, and natural scents (essential oil optional). At the end of the workshop each participant will take home 2 charming handmade soaps, which can be removed from the molds the following day and used right away. Soaps are approximately 3.25 oz. each with overall measurements of 2.75” dia. x 1.25” high.
SAFETY STATEMENT: Melted soap is hot and essential oils can be strongly scented. Registering children under 18 years old for these programs indicates that the parent/guardian acknowledges the possibility of safety concerns while handling hot soap.
Program starts promptly, for safety reasons we cannot accommodate late attendees or any unregistered participants.

Art Class

 

This workshop is for anyone who likes to journal, scrapbook, collage… or simply wants to play and create using beautiful materials. With paint, pencil, graphite, adhesives, ink, papers and vintage ephemera, every participant will have the opportunity to create abundantly. This is an ongoing offering; you may start fresh every time you participate, or bring unfinished pieces to work on.

No experience required.

All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Please, no oil-based mediums or pastels.

Tuesday June 23rd is our Dinomite Summer Reading Kick-off at the Eastham Public Library! This summer is all about dinosaurs with our summer theme Unearth a Story!

Don’t miss Trevor the Juggler at 4pm! He’s helping us celebrate the beginning of Summer Reading with a juggling bonanza! This is a super fun performance for all ages! No registration is required.

ABOUT TREVOR THE JUGGLER

Cape Cod native Trevor Pearson has been juggling professionally for over 20 years, performing and instructing throughout New England, and beyond. Trevor performs for a variety of events… circus, stage, parties, corporate, festivals, weddings, memorials, pig roasts, pig scrambles, libraries, hootenannies, motorcycle rallies, and more! He’s taught after-school juggling classes for local schools, and more advanced workshops for universities, colleges, and festivals near and far. He teaches most frequently for Payomet Cirque by the Sea camps and classes in Truro. More info about Trevor.

The Eastham Public Library is proud to present Creative Journeys, a vibrant showcase of artwork created by students from three Council on Aging classes—Freestyle Watercolor, Wood Carving, and Acrylic and Oil Painting. This special exhibition celebrates the depth of talent within our Eastham community, highlighting not only the creativity of the artists but also the remarkable growth many have experienced through their practice. For the instructors, guiding these classes has been a true joy, as they witness firsthand the confidence, skill, and artistic voices that continue to flourish.

Join the wonderful Mrs. Brown as she leads us through fun, creative STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) activities. You will need your whole brain for the various adventures and challenges you will encounter. This is hands-on learning at its most engaging and fun!

For elementary age students and up! No registration necessary.

Every Thursday from June – August / 10am-12pm

Local Master Gardeners will answer questions about gardening, plants, natives, composting, ticks, why your tomatoes aren’t producing, soil samples, what to do about the bunnies, and much more! No reservations needed. They will be waiting for you at a table in the main lobby. Come with questions, leave with green-thumb answers 🙂

SF/F/H Short Stories

 

Every Other Friday @ 2 PM

Join us for a bi-weekly discussion of the stories in this years Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy. When we meet, we will talk about 2 specific stories, looking at the genre, craft, narrative, and all the other fun stuff trapped within.

All are welcome to stop by for some quality writing time. Follow the prompts, work on your novel, write what poems are speaking to you…do whatever you want! We support it!
