On Your Mark, Get Set...READ!
2016 Summer Reading Program for Children & Families

Let's keep both your body and mind busy this summer by celebrating the Summer Reading Program them of "On Your Mark, Get Set...Read! Run into the Eastham Public Library and sign up in the Children's Room to join the reading challenge.  Keep track of every hour that you reed on your reading journal - for every hour you read, you will receive a raffle ticket to choose from one of eight great raffle prized.  

"On Your Mark, Get Set...Read! starts the last day of school, so sign up then or any time after.  Materials you read for your school's summer reading also count for the Public Library's program, so why not join?  The Summer Reading Program ends on Friday, August 12, with the raffle drawing and ice cream party on Saturday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m.  Come on in and join up - it's fun to exercise your mind as well as your body!

Orleans FirebirdsNEW this summer!!! An exciting "Read with the Birds" (Orleans Firebirds, that is) family story Wednesday mornings in July at 10:30 at the library trailer.  An Orleans Firebirird or two will arrive in the warm-ups, read "SummerBall"  by Diane Troy and another baseball book, and talk about being a Firebird.  You can beat the crowds at the field and get their autographs ahead of time at the story time!

WEDNESDAYS (anytime between 1:00-2:00) drop-in Make and Take Craft

THURSDAYS 6:30 p.m. Pajama story time

FRIDAYS 10:30 a.m. Preschool story time

-The 4-H Coastal Explorer visits on 8/10, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
-A family Wampanoag program with Kitty Hendricks, Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers, on 8/25, 10:30 a.m. at the Schoolhouse Museum, 25 Schoolhouse Rd.

-Reading to Dogs – young readers spend time reading to dogs from the
      Cape Companion Animal ProgramDate and time to be announced

End of Summer Reading Program Ice Cream Party and Raffle Drawing – Friday, August 13th @ 10:30 a.m.
