WHAT IT’S ABOUT: STORYTELLING WITH MEDIA
Eastham Library, Thursdays, 6 – 8pm
Learn how to take your idea and make it a story with devices and equipment you already own or can borrow.
This course will introduce you to the basics of storytelling with video and audio. We will concentrate on documentary style storytelling however concepts will be helpful to a beginner looking to make a narrative film or video. We will explore camera usage through composition, lighting, and audio techniques. You will be invited to complete a short, fun homework assignment each week. The course will end with a screening of work completed during the class.
Prerequisites: Students must have a working knowledge of basic computer and technology concepts including cloud storage and email. Students must also have access to a camera, phone or device to use for the duration of the class and access to the internet. Equipment may be available through community media centers or libraries.
