2019 Summer Reading - A Universe of Stories

Registration begins June 25th @ 6:30 PM with Trevor the Juggler

Universe of stories

Whether on the beach on a sunny day, in a hammock under a leafy oak tree or by lamplight on a starry night, summer is a great time to read, and the Eastham Library is the place to go for your reading needs. The summer reading program “A Universe of Stories” runs from June 25-August 16. A fun way to avoid the summer reading slide, everyone who joins the program tracks the time they spend reading books, magazines, newspapers, comics, kindles – even listening to audio books counts! Read alone, as a family, read to your baby brother (your brother can join the reading program, too, even if he can’t read by himself!), to your dog, to your turtle – just keep track of the time.

For every hour spent reading, students earn a raffle ticket for their choice of eight great raffle prizes. Raffle drawings will be held on August 17, along with free ice cream and give- aways.  The more you read, the more tickets you earn, which increases your chances of winning a prize – though we all know that the real prize is the actual reading itself!
